JOSH KOBECK
Joshua Kobeck is a professional vocalist, musical theatre performer, and vocal coach based in Melbourne. Most recently, he toured nationally in the Australian premiere of the Grammy Award winning musical Hadestown — one of the most vocally demanding productions on stage today.
Trained under Australia’s leading vocal coaches and a graduate of the University of Sydney, Josh combines deep technical understanding with a modern, results-driven approach to teaching. He specialises in transforming voices — helping singers build range, control, confidence, and stamina through healthy, sustainable technique.

Josh brings a wealth of live experience across genres including Rock, Pop, Country, Contemporary, and Musical Theatre. His time in the United States gave him extensive insight into live music production, stagecraft, and vocal performance at the highest level.

He’s highly skilled in VCE Music, audition preparation, and performance coaching, offering the tools and mindset needed to excel both on stage and in assessments. Known for his grounded energy, powerful voice, and ability to bring out the best in every student, Josh creates lessons that are dynamic, supportive, and full of growth. His goal is simple: to help every singer discover their true voice — and love every step of the journey.

How our classes work

Book your first lesson

Your first class $30 and is a private face-to-face lesson with a coach of your preference. This is a great opportunity to ensure Coach Music is a good fit while we get to know each student’s personality, goals and skills.
Tailored to suit your needs

Understanding each student ensures we can place them in the most suitable setting for them to learn, whether that’s a group or private class. We group our classes to ensure all students will learn at the same pace with confidence.
Weekly Lessons

When you're ready to join Coach Music Academy, we'll work together to find a time that suits you every week for your lessons. Payments are made easily through direct debit every two weeks. You have the flexibility to pause or cancel your classes whenever you need to. We want to make sure you have a hassle-free experience with us!
